Jeff grew up in Atlanta Georgia and began playing drums at the age of twelve. By the age of fifteen he was performing in his local church and with an original rock band made up of his youth group buddies.
In high school Jeff was lucky enough to have an accomplished percussionist as a band director who mentored and encouraged him to audition for the University Of North Texas where he was accepted as a Jazz Studies major in 2004.

Attending the University Of North Texas under the direction of Ed Soph (Bill Evans, Clark Terry, Chris Potter) challenged Jeff to learn the language of jazz, to sight-read on the spot, and to perform on a regular basis in front of large crowds and some of the best musicians in the country.
After graduating from UNT in 2009, Jeff began playing music full-time in the Dallas area. From pop venues to small jazz clubs to touring, Jeff learned what it meant to be a working musician. After a few years however, he came to the realization that the local circuit of gigs he was performing in wasn’t leading him to the bigger and better opportunities he desired.

In 2013, Jeff decided that a change was in order and moved out to Nashville, Tennessee with a new game plan. In Nashville, he is focusing solely on two things: performing and touring with original artists who he respects as well as producing quality drumming videos on a daily basis for his social media accounts. He has picked up a “real job” at Apple which allows him to turn down the local gigs that once occupied the majority of his time. Instead, Jeff is now focusing on the gigs that lead to real opportunity and longevity in the music business.
