180 Experience

Find Your Energy

Drumming involves so much more than just playing all the right notes. You have to play with sensitivity and authority. Mark Schulman teaches us how to create a presence with our drumming, an ability to play with great dynamics, power, and finesse. He’s explaining what it really means to sit on the drum throne, filling it with confidence and energy. The attitude of someone playing in the stadium is what shapes the behavior that determines the consequences or outcome of our performance. I always position my attitude in a way that’s going to give me power. Mark also describes posture and physical output of energy while serving the artists he’s playing for, being attentive to other band members, as well as the audience.

Mark seems like a wonderful bloke. Seems like he didn’t need to be interviewed – he just grabbed the ball and never let go! That’s got to be the easiest interview you’ve ever done, Jake!

Great insights and information. Thanks so much for this.

Very observant Ray, Mark is easily the most natural person on camera I’ve ever met. I don’t know if I said more than two words; he’s that good;)
